Can't seem to Chop Trees

I have an axe, but when I equip the axe, and right click the tree, I get the normal options? Not chop. Whats the right way to chop a tree?

You don't have lumberjacking, I think.

The descriptoin for lumberjacking just says it increases the speed.
It does not however, say it lets you cut trees.

Lumberjacking is required to chop trees though, just as carpentry is required to chop up the logs into boards and whatnot.

Don't pay much attention to skill descriptions, they're mostly for the flavour.
