I just recently started out on this interesting game, and i migrated away from the center a bit... but now I dont have a clue where I actually am.
I mean... none of the feature's on the world map make any sense to where I am, I think im not getting what the colors on it actually mean.
So, how do i figure out where on the world map i am?

You can compare terrain features like forests, swamps, lakes, and mud flats on the minimap with the world map.

If all else fails, restart and login, you can teleport to your hearthfire or the Ring of Brodgar.
You see a masterful engraving by Blaze. On it is Blaze, bears, boars, and foxes. Blaze is striking down the bears. The boars are screaming. The foxes are in a fetal position. The image relates to the return of Blaze in the late winter of 2009.

It's south of the lake that looks line number 3, almost straight south from Ring of Brodgar.
