New Supergrids

Postby tristamizumi » Fri May 28, 2010 12:02 am

I'm a bit new to the game and trying to get my bearings around the world. So I was looking at the maps from http://www.havenandhearth.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=7&t=5969 and hearing about the "new" supergrids and I'm trying to orient myself to which ones they are.

Seen on some of the images is this grid:

Code: Select all
A0 B0 C0 D0 E0
A1 B1 C1 D1 E1
A2 B2 C2 D2 E2
A3 B3 C3 D3 E3
A4 B4 C4 D4 E4
A5 B5 C5 D5 E5
A6 B6 C6 D6 E6

Does this include the new grids, or are they in addition to these?

Last I heard, the world was 9x9 supergrids in total...too tired to find the thread, but Loftar said it himself. So basically, they'd be added onto the edges of that grid you have there, which is 7x7.

(For the record, I think people started suggesting a "C3 = {0,0} B3 = {0,-1} etc" reference system instead of having to reorganize the letters every time it expands. Not that it matters too much.)

There's a thread ont he matter of naming.

The A1 system doesn't work because the map expanded in all directions, refering to C3 as 0,0 or N0E0 and moving in accordance to that is probably your best bet.

Gotcha. So essentially a new ring of grids was added to the edge of the world. And using a Cartesian coordinate map for the grids works for me. Thanks.
