VG, Just tell the guy how to do it.
Anyhow, assuming you do not have the aid of any person near you, the first thing you need to do is to raise your your exploration to 8 so you will start finding foragable plants called Wild Windsown Weeds (abbreviated as www). Any higher exploration will increase your chances of finding it up to a maximum of 16. This is what they look like:

Once you found some, you build a drying rack (the one you use to hang rabbit furs to dry) and place them in there to dry. It will take 2 game days (16 rl hours) to dry on a drying rack. After they completely dry, them they will become seeds. Note that the seeds you get from a windsown weeds are regional that gathering them from the same place is most likely going to yield the same seeds. If you are more variety of them, try to search at different regions.
Of course if you are able to find a kind stranger, you can be able to ask for seeds. It will not be a problem for them as they can be able to make many of them. Alternatively you may find someone else's farm that is not claimed or may be abandoned (meaning a lot of the structures at damaged and most of the tile under crops reverted to their natural ground). These may be freely taken though I advise just taking one. Unless they are lacking that crop, do not replant them as a low skilled farmer harvesting them lowers the quality of the seed. That being said, make sure to claim your farm through the yeomanry skill as soon as possible.
If you keep focusing on the shadow behind, you will not see the light in front of you.
Being successful isn't just about hard work and succeeding, it is also about picking yourself up when you fail.
