Gathering Straw

I have no clue on gathering or finding straw.

How does one go about getting straw?

It's a byproduct of harvesting wheat. For that, you need wheat seeds and farming. If you cannot get wheat seeds by asking other players, you have to collect wild windsown weed from near and far. Dry that weed on drying frames for two ingame days, and you will get a random selection of seeds. With a bit of luck, you'll have some wheat seeds among them.
