Apples?

Postby Jaldart » Tue Jun 01, 2010 3:25 pm

Might be a noob question, but I'm a noob...

If I pick all the apples (or nuts) off of a tree do they grow back? If they do, does anyone know how long?

I gueess that applies to boughs as well, since I picked a bunch of those too.

Thanks in advance,
Jaldart

Yes, that stuff regrows, takes several reallife days though, so you probably dont want to wait for that ;-)

The regrowth is based on the socalled decay hits. Those hits main purpose is the destruction of constructions or fields that are not maintained regularly. Decay hits are completely random, so as said before it might take days before the apples grow back, might only be some hours if you get lucky.

Or it might never grow back!

That reminds me, didn't we convince jorb to change the respawning rates to a fixed limit, like every 24 hours or so? Maybe make it dependant on quality of the tree, I don't care. Just change it so one can actually plan on making apple pies.

We, quite simply, can not have timers on every god damned object in the world. Trees being especially dangerous in that regard.

You have timers on crops and I bet there are a lot more planted crops out there than there are planted treees... Why not just make the trees without fruits/ branches whatever get a timer that stops once it grows back...

Which obviously requires a distinction between planted trees and non-planted trees, and right now there is no such distinction.
