Clothing and Mac issues.

So I'm just starting out and I know HOW to put the clothes on but for some reason when I click on my character, the clothes end up on the floor beside my character instead of actually on her. I have a mac and idk if it's just my mac being stupid or if I'm doing something wrong. Help please?

Sounds like your ctrl key is being pressed; ctrl-left click drops the item you click, just like shift-left click moves the item from one container to another you have open. Not sure how to resolve the problem, but this may give you some insight.
