Silkworm Eggs

Postby Bobusx » Mon Jun 14, 2010 5:47 pm

Well, I was honestly tempted to put this question in the "bugs" forum considering the silk worms actually Are bugs but I decided just to ask it here instead.

Do the silkworm eggs actually die? Or can I just keep them in my backpack till I hatch another Male/Female then start using the left over eggs for silk? That would make the process of silk collecting a lot easier since I can literally just have an infinite supply of eggs.

No, eggs do not die
Yes, you need to hatch large batches and only use some for silk.

Here's how I do it. Once you have your first pair let them lay eggs, continue to hatch eggs, into cubbard with leaves, let them cocoon = more moths = more eggs until you have a nice supply. Then use some of the eggs to make silk with until you begin to run low on eggs (I do 12 at a time) then hatch your highest eggs for breeders. Do this = infinite suuply and never having to catch moths again.
