Cooking Time Remind...

Postby Nanothnir » Wed Jun 16, 2010 8:39 am

Ok After sitting there counting it out with a Stopwatch so I could remind myself, I never noticed the Server going down... Hahahaha.........sigh...

So After a long time I have well forgotten how long cooking time is for the Fuel alone. And being frustrated for sitting there wondering why it was taking 15mins for a single twig to burn kinda has me frustrated. So I am just going to ask...

1 Twig burns for How much time.
1 Coal equals 2 Twigs correct,
1 Block equals 1 Coal.
1 Plank equals 4 Blocks.

What is the answer for the first one and is the rest correct. This is for burning in a Kiln, I don't need the Products which require so many twig answers just the time in minutes for a single twig to burn off...

The problem is, it really depends. Different objects burn different things at different rates. In a kiln, a branch burns for almost exactly 5 minutes. However in an oven it's closer to 6-7. In a smelter a piece of coal lasts for 5 minutes too, but used elsewhere (I forget what else you can even use it in that's not metal-related), it lasts longer.

I've not used blocks as fuel in anything but steel crucible (accidentally), and in such a case they give twice what a branch does. A board in a kiln is enough to fire bricks completely by itself, so it's at least 2 branches worth as well, in kiln time.

Yeah I brew beer I used to have it worked out and stuff but can no longer remember...

I would have like HQ Coal and throw that in and just cycle the Germseeds with the Malt every time they change...
