Travel system and Heart secret system

I read alot on forums and wiki about H&H and oftenly there is talk about traveling by crossroads or someone says "pm me i give u my heartsecret so u can get to me" ... i know its posible to make new character and teleport to "friend". Can you do the same with "old" character?

A) Use a village's crossroad system (assuming they have one) to get around and eventually get (closer) to your friend.
B) Add your friend to your kin list (per Kinning in person or by adding to kin by Hearth Secret), invite to a group then click his portrait to go in his direction until you get to him.
C) Join your friend's village if applicable, destroy your hearthfire, then log back in and select to spawn at your village's idol rather than hearthfire/last logged out place.
D) Kill yourself, inherit your previous character's stats (this only includes claim, as well as learning points (purchasable skills are refunded), attributes, and skill values, affected by your change to a maximum loss of 75%), then spawn spawn at your friend's hearthfire per hearth secret.

Thanks, i assume that "party + clicking on portrait" works only if my friend is quite close... on longer distances its prolly not best way to travel?

Long-distance could take 6+ hours. And portrait clicking only works if he's out in the same world as you, meaning not in a house/cellar/cave.

Hearthfire spawning and Crossroads are two different things.

Hearthfire spawning allows you to spawn at the location of the hearthfire whose hearth secret it belongs to, including your alts.

To accomplish this you need the person's hearth secret. When at character creation, talk to the person at the NW corner and type in the hearth secret before entering the stairs that appear.

Note: You cannot do this with a character already existed, you have to use party function to travel towards his location

Crossroads allow you to use travel weariness to move from one crossroad to another.

To do this you need two crossroads first. One location and one destination.

In this example, A is the location and B is destination. After constructing the crossroad, you take a sign from the B crossroad by right clicking it and selecting "Connect". Then take the sign on the cursor and right click on A crossroad.
