"Seal" For a Palisade

So, today I've finished my first palisade, but I have a thing I can do and its called "Seal". Im just wondering what it does, becouse I do not wish to mess my palisade up.

seal means you can never again expand from that cornerpost, its to stop people from using your own cornerpost to wall in your gate.
