Combat move question

Postby TakWug » Fri Jun 25, 2010 9:55 am

Hey, I have a little question that has to do with the combat moves. When I highlight a move it says something like "Weight: [insert unarmed logo here]". Now naturally I draw the conclusion that unarmed has somthing to do with that particular move. Am I right about that? And if so how does unarmed combat affect the move?

Well, it may be like how some objects in crafting are "weighed" to find the final product quality. The weight of said skill is what is factored in to your attack against the weight of your targets skill, adjusted by the favor of battle. Never really gave much thought to it myself, since I don't get into combat enough to see if it affects cool down timers, which is what I originally thought it was referencing.

Yeah thats what I've been thinking to... I came on here hoping to get some kind of confirmation, since I am using melee I don't really want to waste points into unarmed unless I need to...

It matters for moves that compare skill. Death or Glory, for example, uses ratio of your and opponent's unarmed skill to determine how much init you actually get.

Weight is not listed as the full property is being determined though not sure if there is nothing extraordinarily new will be found except for accuracy reasons. There are two things so far:
1. The icon for attack and maneuver determines if melee or unarmed combat is taken into account for attack or defense when someone attack.
2. How much of the combat skill is used in the attack or defense. "Weight (sword icon) 1 1/4" would mean 125% of your melee is taken into account. This is the part where I am determine if it is the combat multiplier.

Potjeh I think you mean the the delta within maneuvers not weight.

Well I am aware of how it works for attacks and manuevers but I was more interested of the moves that fall under the "Moves" and "Special Moves" category like, Jump, Slide and the like...

As far as I know, the weight icon does not matter at all as it has fixed effects regardless of stats.
