My Location

Postby generalzx » Tue Jun 29, 2010 6:45 pm

Having decided that soloing in a forest wasn't going to get me anywhere, I decided to abandon my hearth and home in search for literally greener pastures. After going north and north and north, I find myself outside this village with seemingly no inhabitants despite me yelling outside like a moron for the good part of ten minutes : http://s898.photobucket.com/albums/ac18 ... ereIam.png

And now, I don't really have an idea where I could go. Anyone care to guide a noob out of his predicament? Perhaps advice on where I could go from here? Some major town/village I could find a more managable level of difficulty? (Namely not getting my ass consistently eaten by boars)

That place looks abandoned. Check out the many red areas of the palisade, as well as the blank stone square floor (usually that means a house was there at some point and has decayed). I've never seen that area personally but just using the clues that I can see it doesn't look like anyone has lived there for a bit. Does the runestone give any ideas as to what the place might be called?

Also, you better find something to eat, and quick!

Don't die! Good luck!

Yeah,I actually have some rabbit in my pack, didn't really want to touch it unless I had to cuz it's the only thing I'm subsisting on and it's murdering my stats. Any idea where I can get other types of food? I can't kill anything, ants give barely any fullness and I can't get any seeds due to this being the forest and my exploration being horrible (8,to be precise). And the nearest water body's a good ways from my base. Not that I could see any fish in them anyway.

Regarding the runestone, the picture actually isn't representative enough in that there's actually a few million of them all across the village, and they're unmarked as far as I've bothered to checked.

Thanks for the advice!

Get yourself a boat and sail the rivers till you find a fishing spot. Grassland is also good, because it spawns chickens. Anyway, boating around should also help you find more WWWs and from varied areas as well (gets you a wider assortment of seeds).

If you manage to get a boat just sail around until you see civilisation. I am landlocked in between rivers so I have to boat if I'm off exploring. If you happen to find Djirguda Village on your travels then head south from there and you will find my camp. I'll sort you out with some food.

So I dumped my house cuz it didn't have for at least 10 screens nor grassland and just went solo on a boat. I did manage to find a small patch of grass land from which I nicked some chickens, but I didn't stay cuz there wasn't a single soul in the deserted village. I tried looking out for WWWs, but either I couldn't recognise them or I'm really unlucky. I have 10 exploration points at last count though.

I did manage to land myself in this place called Cheyland, which seems equally deserted. Is anyone aware of any civilisation in the area? Any ideas where I should head from here?

Foo: Yeap,as noted, I'm kinda having trouble finding any living civilisation. Everyone seems to be dead. Thanks for the food offer though! I did manage to get my hunger bar maxed out by living off the land.

Also, does anyone know what this City of Brodgar thing's about? I thought there were only villages in the game.

Again, thanks a lot for the advice! It's really helpful.

There is in the game no city of Brodgar. There is only the village of New Brodgar which is the same as all other villages. In history of the game there have been two worlds before this. And in the first two worlds all players began at the Ring of Brodgar which was the cromlech like the Stonehenge. It was possible for all to teleport to Brodgar to trade. Because of this the village of Brodgar upon those maps had the central importance. Now this is not possible and all the world spawns in the wilderness. But the name Brodgar is still used as if it has the importance.
