Scents, Ranging, and the Punishment of Crimes

Postby Shadowstar009 » Tue Jun 29, 2010 11:45 pm

I tried to look this up using the search function, but so far I haven't been able to find a clear answer.

If a ranger discovers a scent (let's say vandalism), and then tracks down the perpetrator's hearthfire...

1) Can the criminal be forcibly summoned to his hearthfire while he's online, or does this only work when the criminal is offline?
2) If the ranger then kills the criminal, does he leave behind his own murder scent, allowing others to track and kill him?
3) What about stealing from the criminal's corpse? Does this leave theft scents?

4) Slightly unrelated - if you trespass into another player's claim and then pick up scents that were left on that claim, what kind of scents does the ranger leave behind? Theft? Vandalism? or just trespassing?

Thanks in advance.

1) Only while offline, when the hearthfire is not green.
2) Yes.
3) Yes.
4) The initial trespassing leaves a scent, but I don't think collecting the scents does (though you need criminal acts turned on to do it).
