you have 44 soft hitpoints /of/ 44 hard hitpoints /of/ 100 hard hitpoints that you could have

to recover hard hitpoints find a swamp and let leeches attach to you
or acquire some gauze that will help you faster

for you hearthfire just build a new one wherever you want

and i think the wiki and some common sense really answer those questions

Have care if you use the leeches. They take the soft hit points and sometimes they restore the hard hit points. When the soft hit points heal you have the hunger quickly, so to heal this way takes much food. You must not let yourself starve, or let your soft hit points go to zero when you heal like this. If your soft hit points go to zero you will be ko'd and lose the hard hit point instead of healing.

You may find the leeches in the marsh. Not all the marshes have leeches. Stand in one and wait and watch the equipment screen. You will see them appear in your equipment screen if they are they. They suck three soft hit points and then they bloat. When they are bloated take them off and save them to use for the fish bait.

You need the dream to make the new hearth fire. To get the dream you build the dreamcatcher, then wait and harvest it. To build the dreamcatcher you must have the skill hearth magic. When you make the new hearth fire the old one becomes the ordinary fire.

Do not get swimming. Do not go with the feet bare. Do not eat the meat raw unless it is fish, and do not eat the rats. If you swim you will die. The others will take the hard hit points.

When they are bloated, take them off and save them. They will take 24 hours to unbloat, and their quality will increase. Then they will be more effective in healing you (although they may also bite harder and take off more shp, so use with caution). High Q leeches are really the best way to heal, IMHO.

No it won't. Their quality increases by one every time they eat an SHP. Up to your CON rating. Beyond that, they will decrease by one every SHP they eat.
