So, I can claim land by making a pole, but is there any way other people can use my claimed land?
And what happens when you die to your claim?
I want to have a shared settlement with someone and I don't know if it's possible.

It is possible to share, just have them join your kin. Then you can assign them a colour and on the claim menu give that colour options for what they can and cant do on the claim.
