how do i destroy an unfinished building?

it's unfinished but has materials built into it already. do i have to finish it first?

take out all the materials from the building post? shift click the materials.

Take out what you can by shift-clicking. What's been built in will be destroyed if you destroy ([A]dventure->Destro[y]) the construction post.
