Measuring tiles

Postby Naga » Sun Jul 04, 2010 10:18 pm

Is there any easy way to measure tiles? I've been wandering and slaughtering boars prospecting every 4 or 5 minimaps length and it occurred to me that maybe I'm using too much or too little rustroot. Just how many tiles are in a screen and how many tiles are on the visible minimap?

Looking for the easiest way to judge that I've travelled at least 1000 tiles before prospecting again.

There's a thread on maps that explains how large minimaps, local areas, region areas, macrogrids and supergrids are.

Also worth noting that rustroot has a circular radius rather than a 1k² tile area of effect (else the percentages wouldn't make sense.). Also, it won't pick up the inside of caves. Prospecting isn't uncomplicated.

Thanks I think I seen it at some point. I'll do a search and see if I can dig it up.

Turns out I was using a little more rustroot than I should. I probably should have looked under cartography on the wiki in the first place.
