Random brown tiles appearing

Postby Moogie » Tue Jul 06, 2010 9:10 am

Brown tiles (dirt?) have been steadily accumulating around my claim, which is situated on green grassland. I was wondering what causes this. I could've sworn I'd read something about it before, but it's difficult to come up with an appropriate search term (besides "dirt" or "brown stuff"). :P

Could it be my livestock eating the grass? If so, how long does grass take to re-grow? My animals won't eventually run out of grass to eat, will they? I am not spending every other hour filling troughs that get empty faster than Flash Gordan's bowels after a bad curry.

Ty :)

Do you also have livestock?

Mine aren't turning back into brown; they were grass to begin with, it wasn't planted. So whatever is turning mine brown isn't natural for this area.

it is due to the livestock eating it.

but i am not sure it will grow back fast enough.
that probably depends on how much livestock you have.

It won't turn to back to grass on its own.

I thought it did not turn back as well.. But it does. *VERY* slowly.

If you want to breed livestock, you will have to use troughs. Pregnant / lactating cows will slowly starve to death if there's only grass for them to eat.

Also, grass only has q10. You can't raise quality livesdtock with that.

Jeez. I can't even replant grass on those tiles using seeds.

I don't care enough about my livestock's quality to spend every waking hour keeping their troughs full, so I suppose I'll let them eat the lawn until they starve.

You need to pave those tiles before you can plant grass. Yeah, I know, it doesn't make any sense.

Also, try having less cattle if you can't feed the number you have. Also, use pumpkins for feed.
