Food

Why is getting food, and then keeping in the full range in the hunger meter such a bitch? I have to butcher at least 6 rabbits and eat all the meat to go from 50% very hungry to 50% full. Is there a better source of food out there?

Of course, there's lots of food in the game. Take a look at the FEP table for some hard numbers.

Note that your hunger drains faster when you're tired, or injured.

I looked at the table, and roasted rabbit meat gives 40 hunger. The only things higher than that are 60, and anything above that seems like something that would take too much effort to be worth it. I guess I'll just have to live with the constant annoyance that is hunger then.

Learn to kill foxes or boars and you should be good.

Well, I guess. But at the moment I'm really working on getting my little homstead set up and that takes up most of my time. If I ever see a boar I have to run because after the first hit I'm knocked out. However, I have been tanning leather to make leather armor, and my next batch of LP will go into marksman.

You will be rolling in food later and wondering what to do with it all.
Come back two hours earlier.

You won't always be starving. Sometimes I find myself playing for hours and noticing that my hunger hasn't dropped much at all in a long time. Like I mentioned, fatigue and injury drain it faster. I guess if you're not doing so much hard labour, it'll be slower too.
