how do i make a "fully equipted fishing pole" i got spindly taproot (string) a fishing pole, a hook and bait, now what? i need to eat sometime..... thanks for any help guys

nvm just figured it out, how do i get fish though? im at water but i juts wait there

There need to be fish jumping in the water for you to recieve fish while fishing in it. Find some jumping fish and fish as close to them as you can.

theres none around my camp, should i assume theres no fish? if so how can i get easy food near a lake with an ample supply of fir (if that matters)

Just walk up and down the shore, you'll find some.

Or, you could look for rabbits since you don't have any apple, hazelnut, or mulberry trees around. Just go up to a rabbit, and right click when you're right next to it. If you are lucky, it will be in your inventory. Then right click, wring neck, right click, butcher. You have to have a 2x2 space in your inventory first, however, to pick it up.
