Question about chicken coop.

This is probably a silly question, but I'll go ahead and ask. In a chicken coop, I've read that you have to place fodder in it to feed the chickens. I'm hoping someone can clarify for me. Do I put in wheat seeds, straw, or what?

I looked on the Wiki, but it simply said "add fodder," so I'd like to be clear on what that is.

You can put any type of seed in there i think. But chickens dont each as much as you'd think. something like a 1 or 2 seeds a day i heard? not sure thou. but i have 3 chicken coops and went 3 days without putting seeds in there and without it dropping to 0 fooder. (to put fooder in, left click the seed and with the seed moving with your cursor, right click the coop)

You can use straw and seeds for fodder for the chickens. I also found out you can feed them pumpkin flesh also.

Pumpkins and carrots are the easiest.

The fast growth speed of carrots means that you'll get higher quality feed sooner though.

Things that can be used as fodders: Anything that has a seed icon in inventory, carrots, peapods, pumpkin flesh, pumpkins, and beet leaves.
