how do i make food?

I just started playing this game yesterday and right now my health is at 1/11/96 and according to a friend I made yesterday, I'm about to permadie (all of this was from a Boar who continually stomped me, as my unarmed combat punches did diddly-squat).

i've checked all my crafting related stuff and anything for making food/potions/gauze, and I have no helpful supplies whatsoever for making food, so I'm pretty much boned.

this is my first char and frankly I don't want to permadie, so is it possible for one of the head guys to maybe put some magic food or something in my inventory so I don't permadie on my first char?

Food you'll want to try fishing I'm sure. It's the easiest way to gain food fast.
you'll need a hook for it tho so you'll need a bone. Too get a bone you can walk up to a rabbit, (RIGHT next to it, like you're almost standing on it) and then right click it. You can then wring it's neck, butcher it with your axe then you get a bit of meat, a bone and some fur.

You'll need to get a leech or 2 AFTER you heal up your SHP (the first number), you can find them in the marshes (gray) or the swamps (green-blue). Open your equipment window and then wade into the marsh/swamp. Once you get one leech on you, go ahead and step out. You don't want too many at your condition otherwise they will suck your life out. Then begin the slow process of regaining your HHP (second number).

You might just be better off restarting. You haven't gotten very far in just a day. Plus the devs aren't going to make an exception for you and give you free stuff.

Put on some shoes. It is possible you step on the thorns in bare feet and each time lose the hhp.

If you can find the deciduous forest or perhaps on the grassland there are in the game the apple tree, the mulberrie tree and the hazelnut tree. All these give the food that you may eat unless they have been recently picked. It takes no skill

Also, the foxes kill the chickens and the rabbits. You may make scavenge of these carcasses and cook the meat upon a campfire. You find these most often on the edge of the grasslands or of the water.

1)Log off your character and spawn an alt to get you supplies - Don't log back into your main until you have the stuff

Your alt will have bread, use this to fill you up, spawn more alts if you need more bread, this is a very cheap way to do this, don't rely on it, it'll be a bigger pain in the ass than you know. If you do this, do it on a secondary account so you don't look at a ton of alts logging into your account every time.

Go grab leeches from swamp (don't let them bloat, take them off of you) on an alt. Do this only after your main is filled hunger-wise as regaining that SHP teh leeches take off requires Hunger.

Learn to fish, this will allow you to gain a steady supply of food that should fill you without endangering you too much...

Build walls (round pole fence works fine) around your general area, and also build a house, this will give you somewhere to run into where animals can't chase you, and will also provide a sort of safe haven. If you work around the same general area all the time you may also want to invest further down the road into Yeomanry and drop a stake claim, animals don't spawn on stake claims (but they can wander into them).
