For those who don't know what I am talking about, whenever you eat a new kind of food that gives non-zero FEPs and/or wine and beer before a FEP bar fills up, the maximum amount you need goes down by a constant amount dependent on the maximum base attribute you have. For example, if you are starting out, your FEP bar will be at 0.0 of 10.0. If the reduction at 10 is say...1.0, then the moment you eat something like a q10 carrot, the FEP bar will now say: 1.0 of 9.0. Eat something different like a q10 Grape, then it'll become 2.0 of 8.0.
Now that we all know how this works, let's discuss the thing that matters: the actual equation in determining how much a bar is reduced for some maximum stat.
So, the guys and I on IRC (btw, needs more active mods to kick spammers) decided to try and figure out the actual equation.
Given the data set:
- Code: Select all
Max stat | Bar Reduction
10, 2.0
36, 3.8
41, 4.0
42, 4.1
48, 4.4
49, 4.4
62, 5.0
111, 6.7
112, 6.7
113, 6.7
114, 6.8
121, 7.0
So, we (mainly thanks to fantastication) have discovered that the amount the bar gets reduced is a linear function of the sqrt of the maximum attribute stat a character has, or at least as far as we can tell. aka. reduction step = a * sqrt(max stat) + b
So far, we got an upper bound of 0.64 and a lower bound of 63/99 (or 0.6363636363...) for the linear coefficient (0.6363... < a < 0.64) but we can't get an exact coefficient yet and we can't tell if the equation is actually linear in general or just very close to being linear at smaller values.
tl;dr - It would be nice if people would help fill in the gaps in the data especially for larger maximum stat values. I know how a lot of you think it is very, very important to hide information about how strong or weak you guys are but I'm sure you bigshots have a few alts rolling around that have stats over 250 and we just need the max stat and how much the bar was reduced per food. The more data we get, the sooner that we as a community figure out the exact equation. Besides, characters below 500 in attributes is not worth hiding or bragging about anyway.
Thanks.
Edit: loftar says it's 2 * sqrt(max stat * 10)
