Honey quality terrible. Why?

Postby Moogie » Mon Jul 12, 2010 5:02 pm

There seems to be no way to raise the quality of my honey above 8. The construction materials for the beehives and the quality of surrounding crops are equally good, and this is properly reflected in the quality of wax I harvest (around 30), but the honey remains absolutely shit.

Is this a bug?

I believe it may just be bugged. Higher quality materials do see an improvement, but it's so low it's not funny. My hives are all made from 50ish straw, 38 boards, and 20ish blocks, and give q12 honey. Some of my village mates though made new ones with 80 straw, mid-90s boards, and 60ish blocks, and are still only getting q16 honey. It's as if the formula for the quality is off, and it's giving a fraction of the quality it ought to.

I started with q80+ hives and it starte dropping until it hits 60 and 66 before it started to rise which makes me believe that it will adjust itself until it reaches the level based on the quality of the crops around it.
If you keep focusing on the shadow behind, you will not see the light in front of you.

I wouldn't bet on it. I have a q70 hive surrounded by q100 crops, and it's giving q10 honey nowadays.

Nah the quality of the crops around it is only of secondary importance in my experience.

That doesn't explain it. There's no reason for mine to be producing anything less than the quality of wax I'm getting. The honey was never high quality to begin with, and hasn't dropped/raised at all since the hives were built (one is only a few days old, the other is about two months old).
