My wheat has been in the same-looking growth stage since 2 this afternoon. It looks like it's grown, but then again, so do grapes until they turn orangey-purple. Is this a similar case?

There were a bunch of crashes today so there may have been some delays in growth.

Either way ripe wheat is hard to determine just by looking at it.

After a while you will learn to recognize it. Fully grown wheat has straight stalks, while almost grown wheat is slightly bent.

personnlay i recognize whether its harvestable or not try walking in to it and seeing which is taller, me or the wheat. if its taller you can harvest.
