impregnating tamed sheep

Postby Gromit » Tue Jul 13, 2010 9:50 am

So, i tamed a female sheep yesterday and today i tamed a male sheep. and i have a few questions.

1. put them in the same pen and the male will impregnate the female one?
2. how long will it take for him to impregnate her?
3. how long until pregnation to birth
4. how long will it take baby to grow up
5. once female is impregnated, how long until the male can impregnate another (friend wants to borrow him after my female is pregnant)
6. what roll does the male ram take place after the child is born? nothing?
7. they share the same through yes?

Thanks!

1) Yes.
2) Until they get in the mood. Could be right away, could be hours.
3) 4.5 RL days.
4) 10RL days.
5) He's always up for it.
6) No role.
7) Sheep and ram yes, baby lamb will drink mother's milk (or surrogate mother's, if you separate them).

On the list of sound implementation, that's either the first or the last priority, and I have no idea which way it'll go.

lol. few more questions.

1. what is the redish colored bar in there info?
2. what is the light brown colored bar next to it in the info.
3. at what age can i remove the baby sheep from its mother (since the milk and all..)
4. where will it display the female as pregnant, in the info tab under its name?

The red bar represents their hunger. That bar keeps them healthy as long as they're fed. The brown bar represents starvation. If the red bar ever runs down, this bar will start to deplete. In addition to dying when the brown bar completely empties, any reduction in the brown bar also reduces all quality related to that animal, and is permanent and will never recover even if you feed them afterwards.

Babies will drink milk up to the point that they mature into adults.

It's much better to feed them yourself, although they can subsist on grass for a while. Grass tiles turn brown to indicate depletion. Pregnant animals eat much, much more than they normally do, so be sure to have a packed food trough nearby.

And yeah, it's okay to have them away from a food source for a while (if for instance you are oxcarting your way across a large area) but don't forget to feed them!
