How do I make the transition from foraging to farming?

I'm really nooby. What's a good way to make said transition? Right now I'm just getting food from apple trees/berries/etc. because I don't really know how to hunt.

Get your exploration up to about 10 to 15 ish, then you will start seeing things called Wild Windsown Weeds dotted around like nettles and taproots are. Pick these, then put them on a drying rack for a while and they will turn into plantable crop seeds (you need farming to plant them though) . If you have a herbalist table put the weeds on here to dry as this makes the process take far less time.
