cant find acher clay

No matter how much i dig or how many mudflats i dig in i just cant find the stuff, I dont go home with more then 4 or 5 acher clays in one sitting, am i doing something wrong?

found out im just a giant noob who has my Nature all thw ay so its harder for me too make industry.

Nature/Industry has absolutely no effect on finding or collecting acre or ball clay.

It *does* have an effect on collecting gray clay, cave clay, and feldspar, but each of those also appear as "herbs" on the ground, instead of being something you dig from shallows or mudflats.
