In a chest, or better yet, a cupboard(oh so very spacious). Mulberry leaves are not needed in the mating process . They will mate and create 9-11 silkmoth eggs, which will never transform into worms until you put them in a herbalist table. Once you do, it will take 8 hours(I think) before they transform into silkworms. Now put silkworms into the chest or cupboard, fill it with mulberry leaves(yeah, the whole thing, just in case) and wait some time until the worms eat 4 meals of mulberry leaves(which happens every 8 hours), at that point they will transform into silk cocoons, which can at long last be turned into silk. But wait! I wouldn't recommend it. You can wait another 8 hours and the cocoons will transform into more silkmoths(tuh-duh). This way, if you do repeat the process, you can take a few of the silk moths to make batches which make more silkmoths and batches that make more silk. This way you always have silk.
