Chickens?

Will my chickens lay eggs without fodder? If not where can i find seeds to grow some?

Fodder is any seed, plus straw, carrots, peas and pumpkin flesh (you can also use whole pumpkins). So, if you could build a coop that means you already have fodder in the form of wheat seeds and straw. If you don't have a coop, your chickens won't lay eggs and will starve to death in two days.
