Plants doesn't grow?

I planted flax seeds yesterday, they looked like grass. After a day (so today) they still look the same? Or is it so that they look else only if they fully grow?

The visual differences in the various stages of flax aren't that great until the second to last and last stages. Give it another day or so and it should be ready to harvest.

Right, make sure to select the seed by left clicking on it, then right click on plowed land to plant it.
