Bee Hives - Honey sequence changed?

Postby Sarge » Thu Jul 22, 2010 9:20 am

I have had 4 bee hives for quite some time with their zones comfortably overlapping. For weeks they would all produce honey, but recently (and I don't know if it changed with the suspected stealth update) only one produces honey. I thought I would wait for it to fill up and see if the others would start producing in some sequence after that, but nothing.

I don't know for a fact if I didn't remove the 1L honey just a little bit too early and that the others would have started to produce honey after this one was full or if this one was full and because their zones overlapped, the others have become cosmetics/easthetics as a result.

Any of you know what may have changed or how this works now?

All i remembered was the more crops a hive has in its radius, the faster it will produce wax and honey. More hives over the same crops will reduce the timer?

But yeah im curious to beehives, wikia page on beehives has too little info

Same thing here. I was getting only very little wax. And suddenly I got 3 or 4 wax out of one of my two beehive. (not checked the other one yet.)

Clearly no one has a clue what's going on here.

Dev's, would you mind explaining to us how bee hives work so that we may apply them correctly please?

Maybe something was just fixed. And how beehives work is a Dev's secret, ... to be deciphered by the users. ;)

Anyway. Lets see.
Growing plant crops are the source for the beehive resource production. (Honey and Beeswax)
- Plants could generate both items. (In different amounts per item and per plant, and in different amount per crop growth stage.)
- Plants could only generate honey, and the beeswax is a secondary Beehive item produced from Honey.
* both cases could be in effect at the same time. As in Crops don't produce wax directly. But instead generate Honey to Wax conversion points.

Erm ...

+1 to Sarge question.
