Entering a boat in deep water

Is there any way to enter a boat in deep water, without swimming skill. I'm asking because I loged out in boat and couldn't log in into it, I had to log in to hearth fire. Now I'd like to get my chests back, if it's possible.

Sadly there is no other way, =S. I hope there were not very good items in the chests...

Or wait, i don't know if this is possible, but make another boat, go to the boat you lost and maybe you can take the items... Or maybe go from your boat to the other. Maybe it won't work, but you can always try.

How to: Recovering a deepwater boat

1) Build a second boat
2) Board the second boat
3) Move up next to the deepwater boat
4) Lift the deepwater boat
5) Move back to shore
6) Leave your second boat
7) Drop the boat you're lifting
