Quality in carpentry

Postby Danno » Sun Jul 25, 2010 5:04 am

Does board quality make boats, crates, etc. last longer or something? Or does that only affect the quality produced by things like herablist tables?
And say you build a beehive with quality 1 straw and repair it with quality 30 straw... Would the beehive quality improve over time, or would it remain at its original quality?

Quality does not affect decay rate. A ql 1 wood plow will last you just as long as a ql 20 one, both in terms of decay and in terms of wearing out from usage.

The same thing applies to every other object.

As Pacho said, it does not effect decay rate.
Quality IS very important for yours second question, that being for wood items like Herb Tables, wine press, barrels, looms and all other items where quality effects the outcoming product.
To your third question, no, quality does not improve by using HQ items to repair and object, it will remain the same quality as it was during initial creation. The Q of the item used to repair will not raise nor lower the q of the object you are repairing. To get a higher Quality object you must use higher quality material in your contruction of a replacement item.

I see... I suppose I should suggest my associates don't bother boosting that skill, then. Thanks for the info.
