Rid my unconcious body of this boar?

So I got rampaged by a crazy boar who was just kinda sitting off screen while I was hunting around. I didn't pay it any attention. I heard they aren't aggresive till level five. I didn't know what that ment of course.. I'm just a newbie. Anyways, he charges me, and leaves a little while later. I get up and haul ass opposite direction... Feeling a bit safer, I slow my pace and catch eye of a rabbit. A Heath would have been better, but I haven't been that lucky. Anyways, I catch the rabbit and stick him in my inventory. I head to Azkanan's Extremely Overwinded Quickstart Guide to keep reading, when all of a sudden I hear a sick cracking noise I was all too familiar with.. "Goddammit.." I thought and switched back in game, and there it was, to my horror, another boar, spawn camping me. The bastard. Anyways, I wait, and wait, and then I get the opportunity to get up. I don't of course, the bastard is right on top of me. But then, he starts snorting. Black little marks appear above his head, and I'm just like, what the ***? I don't move, but then, I see a +1 in blue color appear above his head, I say screw this, and try to haul ass again. I didn't make it two feet. He screwed me over, THEN left.

Wasn't a pleasent experience. Anywho, I was wondering, what was all this I saw happening, why did it happen, and how can I avoid it next time?

The boar saw you, the boar attacked you with a maul attack then built up initiative using Charge!. When it had sufficient initiative, it began to pump its attack up and proceeded to hit you again. You can avoid this in the future by being more aware of your surroundings and by staying away from deep forest tiles. This will happen though and is generally accepted as just part of the HnH experience.

Get Yeomanry, costs 4000 Learning Points (LP). Check out the wikia if you need more information on it. Once you set up a claim, boars wont spawn on it. So, you'll be safe on your personal claim. Build fences around your claim, so boars wont get in, that way you're safest.

The level of a boar can be seen in the picture of it in the upper right corner. there's a number (in Roman numerals). there is from level 1 to 10, (I, II, III, IV, V, VI, VII, VIII, IX and X.) If you're totally alone in the forest, the animals are usually level 8-10ish. When you get close to towns/cities/villages, the wildlife's level start to lower, meaning that they're easier to kill (and they wont attack you if they're level 5 or lower, note: this only counts for boars and bears, other animals doesn't attack you unless you attack them.)

Sometimes they camp you and sometimes they don't. If he camps you after he knocked you out, the only sure fire way to get him to leave is to log off for 15 minutes. There is a time ticker every 12 minutes, so wait 15 minutes to be sure you've also catered for lag. He will despawn if you are logged off for this long and there is no other player within range.

Yeah. Great that it happened while searching for food. I didn't have much of a choice however. Pathetic, I know. But I guess I learned to keep my eyes peeled. I won't be leaving the gaming screen any time soon.

And thanks guys. I'll keep that in mind. I've got plenty good of everything except a water source. No nearby lake or anything. I'm sure I can create one however by digging, no? And one more thing, I have a build up of failed characters under my name. Is there any way, currently, to delete them?

Train them all to have swimming, then have each of them attempt to swim. This will rapidly remove your unwanted characters.

Also, digging will not create water tiles. You can, however, find a well using a dowsing rod and that will work as a water source.

And always keep extra shoes in inv, or wear bunny slippers, I think they're indestructible.

Use the Pacho client for larger screen area, and thus less surprise Boar action.

It's due to the way stat progression works. To prevent swimming from making boats obsolete at higher stats, it drains stamina rapidly, maybe too rapidly. Con reduces the rate at which stam is drained so you end up needing 100+ con to swim more than 1 or 2 tiles. It'd be nice if it just damaged your health instead of insta killed you though.
