Improving the quality of metal bars

Postby TeckXKnight » Mon Jul 26, 2010 11:19 pm

How does one go about improving the quality of metal bars? Is it merely a matter of the quality of the fuel used? If this is the case, how does one perpetually improve the quality of the charcoal that they make? Do you just need higher q logs to make higher q charcoal?

From what I recall it's the average of the smelter quality and the fuel quality.

Charcoal quality is kiln quality, board/block of wood quality and fuel quality

Oh woops, I just realized I put this on the trade board instead of the question board, my bad entirely! Can a mod move this for me or is it possible for me to move it/delete it?

Edit: Thank you kindly for moving this =)

it all starts with good clay. good clay is the foundation for pretty much everything metal related

Hmm, if high quality clay is the basis to good metal, then my second question would be: is brick quality effected by quality of the kiln it's heated in?

Yes, the brick's quality is:

(kilnQ+fuelQ+2*clayQ)/4
