string type

Postby J-Dog9021 » Tue Jul 27, 2010 8:31 am

i know that some items like rope and sling have quality effected by types of strings put into making them, i cannot find it anywhere on the wiki so saying that all string was quality ten, can someone put in order from best to worst the string types: spindly taproot, hide strap, yarn, stinging nettle, plant fibres, and silk thread??

You can make strings from leather and those are not q 10 only. Also fibre plants has Q dependant on the crop Q level. The same silk thread is from q of moths/eggs/worms/mulberry leaves/water in cauldron/fuel in cauldron/spinning wheel.

So there is no difference in herb-like strings you forage in forests(if you do not find them in High Q area). Only exception is nettle which can not be used as string for fishing pole. The rest depends only on quality.

but hypothetically if you had samples of each of those strings and they were all quality 10, would one string make a higher Q sling, rope, etc?

Nope. Math is math. 2 times 10 / 2 will be always 10
