Plant Fibers

Or, more specifically, should I plant flax or hemp?

Right now I have quite a large field of flax and I can pump out way more fibers than I'll ever need. I know that hemp has a nice side effect of turning it into weed, but only if you harvest it before you can harvest seeds or fibers, so I have a very small patch that is grown specifically for those purposes .

Can anyone give me details on which one of those plants grows faster, since I would probably be interested in breeding some high quality fibers.

I've heard hemp grows faster, but in my experience, big ass fields are perfect for upping, quality, because if you only take the best seeds, you still have a crap-ton to plant.

It is confirmed that hemp grows faster, which brings up the question: what is the use of flax? Hemp offers everything flax does and more plus it grows faster.
