Well I currently have a spot that is cave adjacent (haven't found anything yet) and a well for tanning. Fairly close to the river, but far enough not to draw attention from ongoing passer biers looking to score some easy loot. Have a claim up protecting my home, but no palisade yet what with leather being a tiny bit annoying to come by.
