Jack of All Trades Seeks Village, Will Travel

So I'll make this as brief as I can...

I set myself up in a secluded area in the forest, and started building. After getting a cabin up, I headed out to explore. Found some clay to my south, and two settlements. One to the northeast, who asked if I needed help, I mentioned seed and they gave it to me. Went on my way. I followed the rivers and found a palisade. Cool. But here's the thing: the gates were open (all four of them) and the only staked claims were on those openings. No one answered me at the walls, so I went inside by walking over the claims (I know, I know). Now, there were no claims inside the fort, anywhere. I poked around, calling for people, no one answered. All of the hearthfires I could find indicated they were offline, so I left.

The next day, I came back, and everyone was still offline - I guess - when I saw someone come in the north gate with a cart. He didn't speak English, so I figured he lived there and I left. I come online the day after that to find the forest clearcut in every direction (even the apple trees - the horror), all the boulders turned to runestones talking about how I stole things from them, threatening me and calling me a thief. Well, it's destroyed my reputation, even if I didn't help any by trespassing in the first place. Now there's a runestone from the north village saying "Sad..." I don't want to face the inhabitants of the southeasterly town as I'm sure they'll kill me. Runestone communication is too slow.

So, I need to pull my stakes and leave, and this time, I want to live in a village. My villa is pretty well established, with a house and two cabins, a small farm, and a chicken coop, kiln, oven, etc. But oh well. I'm not opposed to starting over and I'm sure I can have all of that stuff replaced in a few days' time.

Anyone looking for a real team player? Right now, none of my skills are very specific except that I'm not really a fighter though I possess combat skills.

Please, guys, I really need a new, friendly home! I'm not picky. Preferably a spot with blackjack and hookers...
