Well it's your settlement,

But perhaps you should tell people if you need specific jobs done, or there is some sort of requirement to join. Just saying.

So, if you have a iron mine, why not make wrought iron for a brick wall?

i dont think "iron mines" is still a term in this game. at least not how it used to be.
