Unless this is a trap which is likely i strongly suggest you remove your HS now otherwise, anyone can come and "help" you

Thanks, i removed it now Its just i need some people to work with and atm i kinda suck, but i realise now that someone could come and destroy my sucky base, which atm is 2 wicker baskets, a Drying rack and a leanto

I'm not sure if there's a polite way to say this, but it sounds like you have no idea what you're doing. I doubt that many players will join your shantytown.

These are your two options, as far as I can see: (1) you join a planned or existing village being run by somebody more competent than you, or (2) you live the glorious life of a hermit and pull yourself up by your bootstraps. Both options can lead to success. The choice is yours.

I suggest you hermit for a few weeks/months before you set out to build a village at least learn the basics before you start recruiting.

Ah, but hermitages are so lonely and painful. Let him take risks and gamble on new friends while he has so little =)

Just make sure to chat with them in pm's beforehand so as to get a good grasp of their character before inviting them to come live with you. This way you can at least pretend to get to know them before you try to live together with them~
Worst comes to worst, be ready to lose everything and stash some resources away to the side so you can be ready to run on your feet again for next time~!
