Iron Curtain

Postby longblacksocks » Fri Aug 12, 2011 10:46 am

Greetings,

I live around Iron Curtain, it seems to be the biggest settlement near to me. I was just wondering if it was still active, because if so perhaps we could trade or just make contact. I have been over that way but seen nobody really. I was also advised not to get too close to the walls incase I was mistaken for a raider scout.

If it turns out the town is still active then I will leave a runestone by the gate so hopefully we can make contact.

Thanks!

I believe that the bulk of the city was abandoned but there are a few people still residing deep within the town.

Firstly, inb4 saphking

Anyway. Iron Curtain is abandoned because everyone who lived there quit after the chieftain died (ls quit w/o renouncing) however it is still used as a warp point for me and anyone else residing in my hearthvault.

You won't be killed on sight, but you will probably be pantsed. If you need anything, contact me via PM.

An option to challenge LS to combat like spar, and if you win you get another option to claim LS title?

But how can you do that if he is inactive?

It would be better if it was linked to authority or something like that...

EDIT; was drunk last night, what i most likely meant to say was, why not have any villager be able to to take ls if the idol is below 50k, which also has its flaws i suppose, but what if you couple it with, a member of the hird is able to renounce the ls by force if they have not been active for a set period of time regardless of auth :?:

Simplest option would be if the chief or lawspeaker doesnt log in for 10 days they get auto renounced.
Early world exploit: Put your hearthfire inside a cave, then hold shift to position a claim right in front of a cave. After 8 hours the claim will be unbreakable. Since your hearthfire is inside the cave, you can still get back inside, and leave, but nobody will be able to enter, effectively making you unraidable for the first 3-7 days. Enjoy

We need more complex village politics options in general, not just this.
