It did happen to me. four times. We're not talking chickens either kid. We're talking 1600 pieces of linen and several chests of various kinds of metal back when regular copper and tin were worth what gold and silver are now. Because back then even brick walls were about as solid as cardboard. Several hundred cheese racks etc.

I am trying to help you understand that your loss is insignificant and offer you a more comofrting perspective: It's a cheap price to pay for education. Assuming you learn. So what if I laughed at you? That's the price of my interest. Take it or leave it but it is the voice of experience.

If you defend enough to get good scents left (Vandalism) then those are summonable and some noble jackass might track down the killer for shits giiggle and self righteous pillage and plunder.

OUT.

just get out please, you're giving sound advice but you are being very aggravating about it. if it was just some dumb chickens I found wandering around I wouldn't care but the fact is they were gifts and it makes me feel bad I lost them. so just go away before I yell at you again.

and I am trying to defend, I'm just not getting enough LP in fast enough to get it done. the clay around here is so sparse it's not even funny so a brick wall is out too. I can't even get a kiln up for goodness sake!

repeat: I need bone for glue for fence, wt part are you not getting?

Look, the important part is that you didn't even have a claim around the coop, of course it gets stolen.

If its not on claim, its fair game for anyone who wants to steal stuff.

did you not get what I said in my first post?

They had to go through my claim to get to my coop. irregardless where the coop was the fact is they would have took them anyway even if they were in my claim.

if there was a way i COULD help you then i sure would.
like in getting a palisade up/getting some clay n whatnot, but that would be near impossible because id either have to make a new char or travel god knows where to put it up.
and you wouldnt trust me anyway if there was a way to come there. :l

The fact is someone robbed you and people is not going to bother without even having scents to the criminals, move on and build a palisade, claim it and force them to leave scents if they want to steal your shit, then people might be able to help you.

I think opening a claimed fencepole gate actually leaves a vandalism scent, not just trespassing. But I may very well be wrong there. And probably even vandalism scents wouldn't help much. I seriously doubt that someone will take up this case and bring you justice, not for a few chickens. Posting your whereabouts may even attract a few griefers. There have been quite a few cases of that happening already.

Also, a roundpole fence is no real defense at all. Parts that are not on a claim can be broken even by a freshly spawned newbie character and as such anyone could simply have stolen the chickens if he wanted to. Of course the game has been going on for quite a while now and lots of petty thieves have vandalism, theft, murder. A palisade will save you from those but unless you have a brickwall you are not safe (and even the relative safety of a brickwall is debatable). Don't bother much with palisades either. They can be broken down by strong players and are a pain to remove by yourself when you don't want them anymore. I'd say build a small palisade (don't forget to seal the cornerposts once you are done!) and focus your efforts on building a minehole as soon as possible to get some iron and as such a brickwall shortly thereafter. Better even, ask your chicken friend to help you build the brickwall. Getting iron can be a lenghty process if you just started the game.
I'm still ashamed and embarrassed about my last post. There are many small reasons but no real excuse for what I said in the end. All that remains is regret because I won't be able to make up for it again.

See you in a different game maybe. Hopefully without retardation from my side.

let me recommend you to quit this now and move on to another game. this is probably not for you, sincerely.
it'll only get worse if you can get that hysterical from this (and others' posts), im afraid you wont be able to take any further incidents that would most likely happen to you sooner or later.

Opening a claimed roundpole fence gate only leaves trespassing. But far safer than that, if the fence itself is unclaimed, is to destroy a section of fence, take whatever you like from the unclaimed ground you find yourself standing on, and then - if you are feeling really nice - you may rebuild the fence behind you, leaving no criminal scents because you have not committed any crimes.

To the OP - have you actually found a clay node at all? Or have you just got bits and scraps of q10 clay from places with no node? I find it difficult to believe that there is a river system with no unclaimed ball clay along the river banks anywhere. Try looking in suspicious village claims that have lost their authority, try just outside any apparently empty personal claims (and if there's no clay, check the water q), try along the edges of swamps. Find yourself on the map and I'll give you directions to at least one unclaimed node.

Thankyou for standing up for me, I'm south of the abandoned town, Point's Edge.

I'm also a girl ^^

's funny how many people make that mistake.

:) sorry, most gamers i meet tend to male, even though i am female myself i refer to msot people as a 'he'

I'm not quite sure where you are, otherwise i'd offer some help. Trespassing scents dont last long and are probaby already gone by now, so even if it was possible to get to you, finding a scent wouldnt probably be possible. for what its worth though, whoever did take it cant be much more a newb if what they took happens to be outside a claimed area. any newb can trespass a claim with criminala ctivities, but to do much else they need the necessary skills of theft, vandalism and so on to do anything.

In all hoenstly at this stage in the game, without a brickwall, or two even you dont last long. Until i got a palisade i was robbed daily, after a palisade we got palibashed, after a wall we get sniper attacked, and with a second wall we're finally safe! just how it is i guess. all about how you secure yourself and your survival.

anyway good luck.
