Not for long enough apparently. With 1000 UA vs 200 melee you'll come just short of breaking the defence, thanks to the recentish punch nerf. Even with einhered 2000 UA (which you don't have) you'd only do .76 of your max damage. To knock out 400 hp (a fairly easy number for a 200mc character) you'd need to do 1580 max damage with punch which means you'd need 10k str.
The melee chars on the other hand have fairly simple objectives. Keep distance till they get 2 IP with thunder, then 4 simultaneous NPNGs followed by 4 stings and you're dead.
