This is the primary reason I am extremely hesitant to go outside or be part of the community because I would end up being absorbed into the politics and lose focus on what I am set out to do solely for my own selfish reasons of overcoming my enemies at all cost and why I do my best to try to set a good relation to anyone I speak to.
The very source of this problem can be traced into one statement: Many, if not most of us, think ourselves as players instead of testers. Players play the game for their own personal enjoyment; testers play the game to aid its development.
The reason this started off is when someone starts abusing a bug without reporting (well some hatred sparks even when the bug is abused regardless), people simply become angry and if someone sufficiently provoked enough, they can and will use abuse bug to bring down the other person. The original abusing will not hesitant to start doing the same thing right back. At this points, game breaking bugs and exploits are simply political weapons against the other side.
The only way to stop this vicious cycle is very difficult. Both side must agree to stop using abuses and exploits and even then it is going to be quite tense as neither side are sure if the other person will live up to their end of the bargain. Even then, the spark can ignite into another burning cycle with enough fuel added like this post is doing. Finally due to the nature of this game, it is very difficult to determine if one side is secretly exploiting some game breaking bug that doesn't seem obvious at first (ex. Someone on one side discover a way to raise steel quality past crucible hard cap).
For some that do abuse, the lack of negative consequences does virtually nothing to deter bug abusers. No one is capable of punishing them in-game and the developers are on hiatus status to be able to intervene at the moment.
