i take it that archery has got a boost now or something? i thought it was next to impossible to hit someone with a bow if they start runing?

Alright... The sniper, as Lithorn has posted, has attacked again, and Lithorn fell victim. I've collected murder and battery scents from that attack as well. Now, to culminate the data we got from his attack...

  • The attacker is female.
  • The rate of attack speed puts her MM at at least 300.
  • The weapon must apparently be a Wooden Bow, not a Ranger's Bow as previously assumed.
  • She seemed able to attack from at or beyond the absolute maximum rendering range of the client with accuracy, missing her first shot, but nailed him while he was in a hard sprint (max speed). The location he died, according to his crime scene recreation, when I stood there, fully zoomed out and using an alt to stand where the murder scents where left, you could not see the attacker/alt stand-in because they were out of the rendering range. Note - This test was run on Ender's client x64. A screenshot will be made soon.
  • Her attack came in the afternoon this time, meaning future attacks can come at any time, not just at night/early morning as we first thought.

Using this info, I hope to keep my people safe, while waiting for someone to come forward to stop this senseless sniping.

Man I'm still bummed about it. I was finally able to start getting people the things they needed at a pretty good quality to boot. I understand some people just like killing to cause trouble and all, Part of life too honestly. Ah well. Boohoo and all that jazz. Valten and Nao, Gods among men in my own eyes, I wish I had your Combat training and skill. I fear for my village friends who do not deserve this.

Lithorn said in an earlier post he did not see a helmet.

Lithorn wrote:I did not see what they was wearing, nor did their Combat picture look like it had a helmet. It looked like a newbie with a bow

That was his description.

"Operation: Ruby"

Postby Jeebus » Wed Aug 10, 2011 7:47 am

Although I fear we may lack the defense and firepower to catch and subdue her, due to a lack of action on the part of the people on the forum, after discussing this with Skorm, I have decided to greenlight a hunt for the sniper ourselves. It is the belief that if we bring you screenshots of the culprit's HQ, it may help spur a mercenary to action and forward our cause for peace. If not... let's hope for our sakes she's offline when we find her.

We cannot continue to live with the fear and stigma of another sniper attack over our heads.

Ah yes the 5 stages of being griefed.

Denial

Anger

Bargaining

Depression

Acceptance

And remember, before you set out on your hunt:

Already dug my own. Now I just have to fill it with swag I'll take with me to the afterlife. Well, anyway, here's hoping to us finding the sniper!!
