Kid, you prolly haven't been around long enough to actually get to know the community. most of the threads you see here are for entertainment, only those who can add to that entertainment post. those posts usually come from attackers and victims. the shitty people are the ones going around posting the stupid threads (like this one) how long have you been here really? long enough to grind up a char or two to 20 in a couple stats? definitely not long enough to get a good picture of how this happy family (where daddy hits mommy but she still loves him and the rest of us get new toys, candy, and a little forum drama) works. if you dont like the dynamic the rest of us are working out here, leave, just go, gtfo, we dont want you, go back to farmville or whatever poorly made game you crawled out of. as for your fixation with this "ill never catch up" stuff you seem to be flinging around, we have heard it before, its not new. saw it a lot in w3 and w4. again, go play something else. you joined late in the game, you are naturally gonna be lower on the totem pole.

as for your "two groups" there are far more than that. Americans and Russians? dont. make. me. laugh. I've met groups similar to the ones you described that were mostly Korean, or Polish, or Italian, and yes even American and various Russian speaking countries. I've seen the rise and fall of groups of good, bad, elite, modest, withdrawn, outgoing, great, and poor peoples. this is Haven and Hearth, if your going to just lump these people full of character and life in one or another group, then you might as well get out, go get some life experience.

As for age, no one gives a shit. its the internet. its a video game. it doesn't count for pennies.

tldr

although valid points, but not exactly what im talking about. I get there is more then just russia/usa, but's all you peeps talk about , here and in game.

please don't act like all the main players in this game's "affiliated villages" aren't alt towns they use to grief with/ensure continued dominance etc etc

im just telling you what a new player to the game who is used to being a top dawg gets an initial feel for. (etc wow, eve, hon, lol,sc bw, sc2, war2 war3,warhammer, d2,d3,darkfall online, wurm etc etc etc)

Actually kind of ironic since half of the theft scents went straight to your (Horribly defended) town. Maybe destroyed is a bit harsh? They did however destroy two of my houses, stole everything that wasn't in my vault for the most part and destroyed pretty much anything useful.
Burgingham claims that they had scents and tracked them to my town but since I died twice last week, (And didn't have any black skills before yesterday) that's pretty much impossible.

They didn't even have to bash their way in as Valten had the key to my front gate and let them in (Despite claiming to me that he protested.) No biggie, already moved and have a much more secure town with much better resources.

When it breaks down to it your odds of running into any big faction are actually pretty low. If you do challenge them in combat it's not going to be the fact that they've played longer and vastly outnumber you or are more established than you that you'll lose in combat, it will be because you're unfamiliar with the combat system and have never sparred or gone into pvp. If you just play the game, for the most part, you're probably not going to get raided to death by any of the big factions.

Random roaming raiders are another story but they're not something that you really consider a faction or a predictable threat.

For the most part, keep your criminal acts to a minimum and very few people will give you problems. There is no glory in killing newbies and it's a lot more profitable to trade with them anyway. Otherwise, if you enjoy vandalism and theft your life might very well be short lived.

As for lagg deaths? We all feel them. Big and small alike. The big guys lose characters to lagg too and it hurts oh so much but they keep on trucking. That's how you get out of being a small fry if you so choose to, you deal with the deaths and keep playing.

Edit: No, most villages are actually going to be populated by people you'll find instead of alts from the bigger cities. There is very little incentive to trying to run multiple towns rather than just claiming resource nodes.

but when you do lose your chars, you got buddies handing you the best gear and flotsams the minute you make a new one amirite? or are you one of those alt farmers who has been steadily feeding him curious for awhile, either way you win and can get to a competetive level faster

Ahem: You Sir, apparently don't pay much attention. Since my last town that had actual citizens was pally bashed by Taar, (Donkeypunch!) which was well over a month ago, I have been a hermit albeit one who lived in his own town. When I die, Noone picks me up or gives me the slightest bit of gear. As of a month ago I learned how to build a vault and keep enough equipment and food, etc that when i die, I just respawn and go back to what I was doing before. I've never had a higher UA than 175 and currently don't have even a percentage of that. You seem to have me confused with someone else. Sorry.

Someone please tell this guy that i don't have buddies....lmfao

Just play the game, learn, and keep out of quarrels and you'll be fine for the most part. Sure there are ruffians who roam about looking for trouble, but meh. You'll be fine!

Once you get proficient at the game, you can start earning status and gaining connections. Eventually you may be part of a big faction or even become a respectable faction yourself.

And yes, painhertz does not have any friends.

There are only a handful of people on this forum besides myself whose posts are really worth the effort of reading:

- jorb (and loftar if you are into geek speak)

- Oddity and/or Jackard(because they're good for a chuckle)

- sabinati/Onionfighter/burg/Potjeh/TechXKnight (the voices of reason are all pretty much the same)

- DatOneGuy (but only if you have a few hours to kill)

- bitza, Sarchi, Sarge, Sotsa (The HnH OGs)

- WOW (because WoW gold is apparently really cheap now)

I'm sure I'm forgetting some people but that's probably because they are terribly boring.

Hilarious. I'll say it here as apparently your owner Burgingham hasn't relayed the info, I became aligned with RUA and NNN or whatever you call them when Pande thought it cute to destroy my town after i had just died twice in like....3 days? Gave them every bit of targeting data I had, (Which was not insignificant considering my relations with your town were only tertiary) and will continue to help them in any way possible. Will they kill anyone or make any headway with that info? Who knows, they might already have. Doesn't matter. The Russians always killed me/destroyed my towns for a reason. Pande? not so much. Yadda yadda yadda. Going to bed. Goodnight.

"its a bit more efficient to not make enemies when we already have the RUA to deal with, no?"

Which is exactly what pande did when they destroyed my town. lol Maybe YOU should be running things.

I was there, and as far as i knew we had scents. It may very well have been a different part of ur town (it looked like u had a few different pallisades around there). Even if it wasn't, consider it delayed justice for when u shot at sarah jane and killed those noobs =p. Ur a self proclaimed criminal who lives right by Pandemonium, is it really a shock?

Edit: Warpedwiseman, u hate my posts, i see how it is!

Oh man this thread is such flamebait  fun read.

Many of the people who complain about elitism don't realize nothing is keeping them down in the slums more than their own attitude.
You can get the same stats and gear as the top players, OP, nothing makes you different from them except game knowledge/experience.
