One day I'll find a hearthvault and destroy it just to prove you wrong.

I've camped a ram for 24hours before. Its extremely possible, but its the most uncomfortable thing possible. I've got a few tricks up my sleeve for safety as well.

Not too hard to dance, and even in that scenario i have a bit of a safe-guard.

Although swapping hearthvaults can be a problem, all you need to do is get another group to watch a ram at the new vault, and continue doing that to each vault until they simply run out.

It is possible, but I didn't say it was easy.

I spent the past two days afking a d-helmed alt with 1 ua at a hearthvault in progress, and haven't had any troubles. Granted, I was doing other things while I was idling the character. >.>

ainran is the perfect group to pull off a vault-raid, but most of them aren't patient enough.
